Turkish soldiers have shot a 15-year-old in the countryside of Van province on Thursday.
According to reports, the attack targeted minor Azat Bağa as he grazed sheep in the village of Upper Çilli (Çiliya Jor) in Çaldıran district early this morning.
While Bağa was seriously wounded, his relatives rushed him to Yüzüncü Yıl University Dursun Odabaşı Medical Center. The minor is reported to be in intensive care at the moment.
Bağa’s mother spoke to Mezopotamya Agency (MA) and said: “My son was shot by soldiers while grazing sheep and bullets hit him in the back. We have come to hospital and we are trying to learn the details of the incident. My son is in intensive care and we have not been informed about his medical condition.”
The family has applied to the Human Rights Association (IHD) for legal assistance.
