In Amed, a crane carrying concrete slabs to the police station hit a school wall and tore it down yesterday. 2 children were crushed under the rubble and died, while 1 child was seriously injured.

The crane was carrying concrete slabs to the police station in construction, which is located behind Turgut Özel Elementary School in Ben û Sen neighborhood of Amed’s Yenişehir district. A school wall it tore down fell on three students leaving the school. Two of the children were crushed to death and one was seriously injured. The children were taken to the hospital by ambulances called to the scene.

While people gathered in protest, one man was seen taking the license plates off the crane carrying concrete slabs to the police station construction. Witnesses report seeing 3 different license plates on the crane. The area was closed off by the police, people are not allowed in and police inquiry continues.
