The 20th group took over the hunger strike in Maxmur Camp against the isolation imposed on Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan.
A hunger strike action was launched in Martyr Rustem Cudi Camp in Maxmur, Southern Kurdistan (Northern Iraq) under the leadership of Ishtar Assembly in solidarity with the hunger strikes continuing in the prisons of Turkey and Northern Kurdistan demanding an end to the isolation on Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan and rights violations in prisons.
Today the 20th group took over the hunger strike in Makhmur, which has been going on for 39 days.
Speaking on behalf of the 19th group, Sîrwan Turan said; “As is known a severe isolation has been imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan for 22 years. We want to break this isolation and free our leaders. I wish success to the 20th group in their action.”
The hunger strike action was taken over by the 20th group with the slogans "Bijî Serok Apo" (Long live leader Öcalan) and "Bijî berxwedana zindanan" (Long live the prison resistance).
