25 wounded people in Cizre still stuck in a basement under fire

The building where 25 wounded and 3 slain civilians remained trapped in Cizre's Cudi neighborhood, is still under fire by Turkish state forces.

In Cizre district of Şırnak where genocidal attacks by Turkish state forces continue for the 43rd uninterrupted day, 28 people still remain stuck in a basement for three days. 10 of these had suffered injuries after a cannon shell hit a civilian house three days ago. The ongoing artillery aggression on the area later brought the number of wounded to 28.

While three of the wounded died since; university student Cihan Karaman 2 days ago and two unidentified youths yesterday, the others are still waiting for an ambulance, with the situation of 18 deteriorating every passing hour. On the other hand, three lifeless bodies were found in Dicle and Dağkapı neighborhoods yesterday.

Cizre People's Council co-chair Mehmet Tunç reported earlier today that they are removing cotton from pillows to be able to stop the bleeding of the wounded who are heavily being victimised for the past three days despite an interim measure ruled by the European Court of Human Rights for the citizens' physical integrity and right to health.

While the breakdown of GSM services in the area now makes it impossible to reach the wounded people in the basement of a house on Caferi Sadık Hill, reports say that the building in which 28 people remain stuck is continuously being targeted by tank and artillery fire.

In the meantime, another unidentified dead body has been found in Cudi neighborhood today.

According to reports coming through, police and soldiers are forcibly breaking into houses at various locations across the town. Some of these houses are being occupied by special operation police for deployment.
