Body of 3-month-old baby Miray who was killed in Cizre three days ago, is being held on the chest of a slain mother in morgue due to a lack of place.
Dozens have been killed by state forces committing atrocity against the people in Cizre and Silopi districts of Şırnak for two weeks. Their bodies are being held in Şırnak State Hospital's morgue which is already overcrowded by now.
BODIES START TO ROTTEN
As some other bodies that couldn't be placed in the morgue due to a lack of place have started to rotten, a cold storage container has been supplied with the support of NGOs. Yet, state officials didn't allow the bodies to be held in this cold storage container, for which they put forward no reasons.
NO PLACE FOR MİRAY'S BODY
One of those whose bodies couldn't be taken into the overcrowded morgue is 3-month-old baby Miray who was killed by state forces while in her mother's lap at home on 25 December. The state, which killed her, provided no place for her dead body even.
MİRAY SLEEPING ON MOTHER TEYBET'S CHEST
As there is no place left in the morgue for Miray even, who was killed together with her grandfather, authorities refused to give her body back to her family, and left it on the chest of a woman who was also killed by state forces.
This woman holding Miray on her chest is 57-year-old Teybet İnan who was killed in Silopi ten days ago. Her body remained on the street for seven days and couldn't be retrieved due to a continued denial of ambulance to the scene.
Both are waiting side by side to be laid to rest once the state of siege has ended.
