While 15 wounded, 7 slain and 9 exhausted civilians remain trapped in a basement in Cizre for 13 days, it came out today that dozens of people are stuck in another house in the same Cizre neighborhood.

Cizre People's Assembly co-chair Mehmet Tunç who spoke to Özgür Gün TV on phone Thursday evening stated that 37 other people including injured are stranded in a house on the first floor of a building in Cizre neighborhood. Ongoing attacks by state forces have started a huge fire on the top floor of the building, Tunç said.

In the meantime, efforts have once again remained inconclusive today afternoon for the retrieval of those waiting to be rescued for 13 days, from whom no news has been received over the past 4 days. Ambulances and a group of medics affiliated to Cizre Municipality managed to come as close as 300 meters to the basement but couldn't move further as the area came under fire of state forces upon their arrival.

While the artillery attack continued till the evening hours, Turkish units in the area forced the ambulances to turn back on grounds of security.
