Number of those detained today in a Dersim-based political genocide operation has risen to 39. Administrators and members of the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) are among those taken into custody in the operation.
In the district of Ovacık, a total of 20 people were detained in today's operation, including headmen of Büyükköy, Güneykonak (Çaxperi), Kozluca, Burnak, Kızık villages.
Three people residing in Ovacık were detained in Istanbul today and they will be brought to Dersim in the scope of the operation.
In Dersim city centre, 13 people were taken into custody, among them HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) Party Assembly member Ali Ekber Kaya, ESP Central Executive Board member İlke Başak Baydar, ESP Party Assembly member Beren Atıcı, HDP provincial administrator Hüseyin Dağdeviren, İHD (Human Rights Association) executive Hüseyin Mavi.
In the meantime, ESP Leader Çiçek Otlu, ESP Amed provincial co-chair Ramazan Karakaya and ESP Party Assembly member Mustafa Naci Toper who were detained in Istanbul this morning will also be brought to Dersim in the scope of the same investigation.
