HPG released a statement detailing the ongoing actions by HPG / YJA-Star guerrillas, during which at least 5 soldiers were killed and one Sikorsky-type helicopter was damaged.

HAKKARİ

Recalling that guerrillas had conducted an action targeting the Çemê Kurkê Barracks in Hakkari's Şemzinan (Şemdinli) area on August 28, HPG said two specialist sergeant that had been wounded in the action died later.

HPG also announced the ID of the guerrilla who was taken prisoner during this action, as Avaşin Gabar (Saime Avşin).

Three soldiers were killed as a result of assassination actions carried out by guerrillas against soldiers deployed on Xêro hill in Şemzinan area at 18:00 on August 30.

At 10:00 on August 29, guerrillas hit and damaged a Sikorsky helicopter that airdropped soldiers on Ronahi hill in Oremar area in Hakkari's Yüksekova district.

While Turkish army bombarded Mêrgê area and foothills of Ronahi hill since the beginning of the operation in this area with howitzer and mortar fire, Turkish jets shelled the foothills of Ronahi hill between 18:30 – 19:00 on August 29. The operation in the area continues.

At August 29 noon, guerrillas hit the Turkish soldiers deployed on Martyr Gafur hill in Oremar area with heavy weapons. The number of dead and wounded soldiers couldn't be clarified.

VAN

At 20:00 on August 28, guerrillas warned a civilian named Hadi Aslan who worked for the state and AKP in Akinis village in Van's Başkale district. Aslan continued his activity, upon which guerrillas warned him once again and burnt his car.

At 23:50 on August 29, YJA-Star guerrillas destroyed a base station of Turkcell mobile operator in Dêr village of Başkale.

ŞIRNAK

On August 29, guerrillas intervened the workers constructing a road for the state in Deriyê Sêvo area of Şırnak. Guerrillas burnt one digger and detained three workers, upon which Turkish army started an operation which was retreated during the same day without yielding any results.

SİİRT

At 07:00 on August 30, guerrillas conducted a sabotage action targeting 4 tunnels on the Silk Road in between Bitlis and Siirt's Baykan district. The road remains under the control of guerrillas.

GARE BOMBED BY TURKISH JETS

At between 12:30 – 14:30 on August 29, Turkish jets bombarded the Gundê Ramo and Siyane villages and Orta hamlet in Medya Defense Zones, South Kurdistan. The bombardment started a fire in the targeted area.
