7 soldiers killed in targeted actions by guerrillas

HPG reported that 7 soldiers of the Turkish army were killed as result of targeted actions by guerrillas.

HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Centre released a statement providing details about targeted actions carried out by guerrillas in the countryside of Şırnak's Uludere district and Hakkari's Yüksekova and Çukurca districts.

According to the HPG statement, guerrillas conducted targeted actions against Turkish soldiers stationed on Givara hill in Şırnak's Besta region at noon on April 23, which left 3 soldiers dead.

On April 28, guerrillas hit the soldiers at Martyr Dilşêr hill in Besta region. The number of soldiers killed or wounded here couldn't be verified.

In another action, guerrillas targeted a Turkish military unit on Martyr Rahime hill in Oremar area of Hakkari’s Yüksekova (Gever) district, as result of which 3 soldiers were killed. Guerrillas also hit the heavy weaponry positions in the area, in which Turkish troops suffered losses.

Guerrillas carried out another targeted action against soldiers at Hill Ortê outpost in Hakkari’s Çukurca district. One soldier was killed in the action after which Turkish forces shelled Latê Kewa and Hill Sor areas with howitzer and mortar fire.
