A Turkish military convoy has been hit by a blast as it headed on the highway between Amed and Bingöl provinces this morning.

According to initial reports, at least 7 soldiers were killed and many others were wounded in the huge blast after which a number of military vehicles, ambulances and helicopters have been dispatched to the scene.

The explosion has greatly damaged some of the military vehicles in the convoy and the road on which it occurred.
