8 village guards that refused to participate in genocidal operations laid their arms and resigned in Uludere’s Repin neighborhood.

The village guards stated that soldiers had summoned them to the District Gendarme Command and threatened them so that they would participate in the operations. The village guards noted that this was not the first such threat, but they would not fight against their own people.
