Êzîdxan-Asayish fighters conclude training in Shengal

A training session for Êzîdxan-Asayish has been concluded with a military ceremony and swearing-in at the "Şehîd Şengal" academy in Xanasor.

At the "Şehîd Şengal” Academy in the small town of Xanasor (Khanasor) in Shengal region, a training program has been completed for forces of the Êzîdxan Asayish (Public Security). Graduates of the 25-day program "Şehîd Brûsk", named after a fallen YBŞ fighter, attended the closing ceremony on Saturday.

The training of security forces in Êzîdxan, the "land of the Yazidis", included both military and ideological components. In addition, the graduates received lessons on the history of Shengal.

On behalf of the Êzîdxan Asayish Command, Sebeh Cirdo gave a speech at the swearing-in ceremony of the new combatants. Cirdo recalled the attacks on the Yazidi population in Shengal five years ago and continued; "To avert attacks on us, the training and the organization of our population is vital. When Shengal was attacked, many people came here to resist. This allowed the people to organize. Many young Yazidi women and men joined the ranks of resistance units YBŞ and YJŞ."

Cirdo also pointed out the ambitions of regional actors, according to which the Êzîdxan Asayish is intended be smashed to break the defense of the Yazidi population.

"Our Asayish is attacked for protecting the people. We hope that our new members will live up to their duties in Êzîdxan," Cirdo added.
