Action against Gendarme and Police Headquarters in Başkale

HPG Media Center announced that as part of the Martyr Xebat Aktepe revolutionary initiative, guerillas carried out an action against the Gendarme Command and Police Headquarters in Van’s Başkale district on September 23.

Guerillas also carried out an action against the soldiers at the Güvenlik Hill in the Herki region of Hakkari’s Şemdinli district at 11:30 on September 23, and 2 soldiers were killed and soldiers’ tents and positions were destroyed during the action.

Turkish warplanes are reported to have bombarded the Oremar and Mêrgezerê regions of Hakkari’s Yüksekova district between 19:00 and 23:00 on September 23. The Turkish army deployed soldiers in the Bınsülê area of Mêrgezerê region with Skorsky helicopters around 07:00 on September 24, and more information on the operation will soon be shared with the public.

ACTION IN ŞIRNAK

HPG stated that 1 soldier died and another one got injured during a guerillas action against the soldiers at Şerefiye hill in Şırnak on September 23.

ACTION AGAINST BAŞKALE GENDARME COMMAND AND POLICE HEADQUARTERS

HPG Media Center announced that as part of the Martyr Xebat Aktepe revolutionary initiative, guerillas carried out an action against the Gendarme Command and Police Headquarters in Van’s Başkale district on September 23. An A-4 heavy weaponry position was damaged along with the 2 soldiers that were inside it, and a Kirpi armored vehicle was destroyed along with the 3 soldiers that were inside it during the action against the Gendarme command. The police headquarters was also hit during the action, and the numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been clarified. The action was carried out to commemorate recent martyrs.

HPG stated that the Turkish army declared a curfew and launched an operation in the Oranıs village of Bitlis’ Tatvan district on September 21, and deployed soldiers on a hill near the village of Kêrtwan with Skorsky helicopters. Accompanied by village guards, soldiers also raided the villages of Kêrtwan and Pancas on the morning of September 22, and detained a villager in Kêrtwan. Soldiers inside armored vehicles prevented civilians from accessing the region as the held Hobê valley, but the operation ended on the evening of September 22 without yielding any results.

CORRECTION OF THE MARTYR ANNOUNCEMENT

HPG recalled that it had accidentally announced the martyrdom of Rüstem Serhat (Selami Bilici) as opposed to Rüstem Cudi in July, and stated that Rüstem Serhat was alive and serving at his post.
