YPS (Civil Defense Units) General Coordination released a statement regarding an action carried out by their members in Cizre district of Şırnak.

Accordingly YPS members hit three police targets in Cudi and Nur neighborhoods in Cizre at between 20.00 – 21.00 on March 21. Police targets were hit at close range during the simultaneous actions which left 1 police dead and 4 others wounded.

YPG said this action was carried out to mark Newroz and the Kurdish National Week of Heroism, adding that Turkish forces laid a siege on these neighborhoods and conducted raids on some houses in the wake of the action.
