Activists in Shengal organize collective readings of books by Abdullah Öcalan

In Dihola, in Shengal, Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan's books are read with the slogan "Wherever my defenses are, I am there."

A campaign was launched by the Shengal Autonomous Administration throughout Shengal with the slogan 'Freedom for Leader Öcalan, status for Shengal'. Within the scope of this campaign, Öcalan's books will be read everywhere for 7 days with the slogan 'Wherever my defenses are, I am there'.

Members of Shengal Autonomous Administration in Dihola and Borik attended the first reading.

The participants of this collective reading said: "If there had not been such a thought and philosophy close to Yazidism, the Yazidis would not have been helped in the 2014 massacre, and they would have been exterminated. Everyone should know this very well; If the young people of a society educate and equip themselves with this philosophy, the collapse of that society will not be possible."

Dihola Assembly member Heyider Hasan said: "The more one reads about Leader Öcalan, the more one learns. Even though the people of Shengal have educated and organized themselves with our leader’s Democratic Nation perspective, this is not enough. Because every word of our Leader has a deep meaning and is not disconnected from history. All the people of Shengal should read these books."

Hasan added: "As members of the assembly, we are working to convey to society as much as we understand from our Leader's ideas and philosophy. Because the Yazidi community has been left uneducated for centuries. As the people of Shengal, we owe it to Leader Öcalan. We will continue to fight for the physical freedom of our Leader. We promise this."
