Cizirê Canton Interior Affairs Council Co-Chair Şirin Adem spoke on the suicide attack on a wedding in Hesekê that killed 30 and wounded more than 80 people and said: “With this massacre, we see that the enemy has been defeated in the battle fields and has no other means left but this.”

Cizirê Canton Interior Affairs Council Co-Chair Şirin Adem visited the massacre site in Hesekê and the morgue the martyrs were kept in with a group consisting of Institution of Martyr Families Co-Chair Fatma Tahir from Cizirê Canton Democratic Autonomy Administration, Defense Council Co-Chair Rêzan Gulo and Cizirê Canton Democratic Autonomy Administration Consultant Mizmin Ahmed and spoke to the ANF on the attack.

Adem pointed out that the gangs and regime forces had carried out attacks and massacres on the people of Hesekê for the last two years and said: “Those who carry out massacres on happy days of our people will never achieve their goals and they will pay.”

Adem highlighted the foreign-backed gangs and terrorist groups carried out one of their vicious attacks in Hesekê and continued: “We have 30 martyrs and more than 80 wounded in the vile massacre in a wedding in Hesekê. This attack is carried out directly on our people’s freedom, democracy and coexistence. We as the Interior Affairs Council condmn this vile attack with hate, wish a swift recovery for the wounded and patience and fortitude to our families in mourning. The gangs, terror groups and the forces behind them that carried out this vile attack should know that these attacks will never achieve their goal, and our struggle for democracy and the free coexistence of peoples will continue. We reiterate that we are still resolved to make these gangs and the forces behind them pay, as we were in the past. The most meaningful response for our martyrs will be to increase our struggle and expand our revolution.

ISIS gangs and the dirty and dark forces behind them orchestrate attacks on our people at certain times, whenever they receive heavy blows. Hesekê has seen large clashes in the last two years. Both ISIS gangs and regime and allied forces have carried out attacks. In every attack, the people of Hesekê with Kurds, Arabs, Assyrians came together and broke through all attacks to present a resolve to live together. We believe that with this attack, the people of Hesekê will come together around fraternity and the common life more, and will answer the enemy with strenghtening the federal system.”

“With this latest massacre, the fact is revealed once more that the enemies of humanity, the gangs and dark forces behind them have been defeated in the battlefield,” said Adem and continued: “If the enemy is so rash to attack a civilian gathering and a wedding, it shows that they have suffered great blows, they are broken and defeated. Their last resort is such vile attacks and massacres on our people. They are trying to break the will of our people and create hopelessness, but they will never achieve this. We express this again, the dark gang groups that failed to break the will of this people with all their weapons and technique, can never break this will by murdering children, women and the elderly, they can never stop the expansion of our revolution. We are no strangers to these attacks, these are the same groups that attacked the youth in Suruç who were there in solidarity with Kobanê, attacked the wedding in Antep, and that exploded the truck in Qamishlo. Thus, we know the forces who carried out this attack and the dirty politics behind them quite well. Our people are here today despite all attacks and massacres, with a heavy price paid. After this point, whatever the scope of the attack is, nobody can have enough power to break the hopes of our people and stand in front of their freedom.

We as the Interior Affairs Council express that we are ready to pay whatever price and take all precautions against any attacks on the safety and freedom of our peoples. We call on all our people to come together in the face of these attacks and increase the struggle in the name of our martyrs.”
