Rojava Democratic Autonomous Administration and Teyar El-Xed El-Sûrî (Morning Wave Movement) reached an agreement for the political solution of the deepening problems in Syria. In a joint press statement in Egypt, the two sides stated that the revolutionary uprising that had begun in Syria 5 years ago transformed into a civil war with the participation of regional and international powers, and Syrian people are affected the most by this conflict. The organizations said that the monist powers insisting on one party, one flag and one nation wee doomed to fail, and peoples were trying to realize their dreams for a democratic, pluralist and united Syria. The two organizations recalled their previous calls for a democratic and national project to ensure Syrian peoples’ right to self-determination, and listed the following points as the results of the meeting they had in Egypt:
“1- Both sides view the on-going conflict as a war for power, and agreed that the Syrian revolution got off its course. Emphasizing the dangers of the on-going conflict, the two organizations noted that meetings between the UN, US, Russia, EU and the Arab Union without the participation of Syrian people would not contribute to the solution of the issue.
2- Both parties agree that the representatives of Arab and Kurdish peoples in Turkey are being left out of the political process, and criticized regional powers for their role in the role and the degeneration of the revolution uprising. Describing the current conflict as a sectarian war, the two sides called upon Egypt, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and other Arab countries to initiate a political process of solution, stop the on-going fighting, and bring peace to Syria.
3- Both organizations agree on the complete transformation of the current system and the establishment of a decentralized Syria where peoples’ rights are protected by law and a democratic and pluralist parliamentarian system is established. The two sides emphasized the importance of creating a national and democratic committee, and stated that the areas liberated by the Democratic Autonomous Administration would get rid of racist, fundamentalist, nationalist and tribal dynamics and constitute the center of free and honorable life in the region.
4- This agreement is based on a long-term strategy and the Democratic Autonomous Administration and Teyar El-Xed El-Sûrî (Morning Wave Movement) will pool together their political, economical and media-related resources for the development of a political solution and the establishment of a decentralized system based on the equal citizenship of Arab, Kurdish, Assyrian, Turkmen and other peoples in Syria.
5- Rojava Democratic Autonomous Administration and Teyar El-Xed El-Sûrî agree on working together for the construction of today and the future in Syria, and are determined to establish a system of coexistence in which all peoples are proud of their identities and are fully represented.
6- Both sides pledge to fight ISIS and other gang groups, end the bloodshed in Syria, limit the influence of external powers in the region, and construct an economical, social and cultural system in the country.
7- Both organizations view the strengthening of political partnership and the development of democratic actions as the biggest opportunity for the development of a solution in Syria.”
