Another child wounded in Silvan as police urges evacuation

After Abdullah Güney, another child aged 12 has been wounded by special operation teams that are joining the military operation in the district.

12-year-old İbrahim Yazkent suffered a heavy injury after a bullet fired by police hit him in the leg while he was in his house in Konak neighborhood, one of the three areas where attacks by Turkish military and police attacks intensify.

Both children have been taken under treatment at Silvan hospital which is reported to be under partial blockade by police.

Songül Yazkent, mother of İbrahim, told that his son was shot while sitting home, adding; “ We cannot go out at all and have locked ourselves up in houses. We are short of food to eat. Despite everything, we say nothing other than peace.”

In the meantime, two soldiers have reportedly got heavily wounded in the conflict in the district. One of them is reported to have died and the other referred to Amed for treatment.

On the other hand, reports of further military deployment are coming through from Silvan where attacks by 'security forces' continue in an effort to enter Konak, Mescit and Tekel neighborhoods. Other reports say that the bomb attack by Turkish helicopter has left casualties.

Policemen are also making announcements from mosques and armored vehicles, urging people to evacuate the three neighborhoods.

Attacks by Turkish helicopters are also reported to be getting heavier.
