In a report published in June 2023, Human Rights Association (IHD) Diyarbakır Branch stated that 44 people, including 21 children, had died in the last 15 years as a result of being hit by armoured vehicles and vehicles driven by soldiers and police officers in the Kurdish region. Reacting to the policy of impunity, IHD said, “We demand effective judicial and administrative investigations against law enforcement officers who are the perpetrators of actions that lead to deaths and injuries due to the policy of impunity.”
