Sulaimani Asayish officials announced that the person responsible for the shooting on the KDP Assembly Building in Sulaimani has been arrested. South Kurdistan media reported that the attacker was a KDP member.
The person responsible for the shooting on the KDP Assembly Building in Sulaimani on July 5 has been arrested. Sulaimani Asayish officials told the press that the legal investigation is ongoing and the details of the case will not yet be shared with the public.
A.M.M. was arrested at his house in the Bekrecoyi neighborhood of Sulaimani with a court order, and KDP officials confirmed that A.M.M. was a party member. An official from the KDP Assembly in Sulaimani admitted that A.M.M. has been a KDP member, but was expelled from the party after the attack.
The assailant had shared the details of the attack on his social media account, and has been a member of the Hewler KDP 3rd Liq as well as the KDP Asayish Administration in Hewler.
The previous person that had attacked the KDP Assembly Building in Sulaimani was also a member of the KDP 3rd Liq.
It has also emerged recently that the people responsible for the recent attack on the KDP-affiliated TV channel Rudaw acted together with the KDP Asayish.
