North Syria Democratic Federal System Execution Council announced that Astana talks are bound to fail and they would not be bounded by the results of a meeting that excludes them.
North Syria Democratic Federal System Execution Council recalled that democratic forces have been excluded from Geneva-1, Geneva-2 and Geneva-3 meetings in order to please the Turkish state, and emphasized that this mistake is being repeating in Astana talks.
In a written statement, the council said “Despite the struggle Kurdish and other North Syrian peoples have put up against armed terrorist groups, they have been excluded from all meetings on the Syrian crisis. Kurdish people and other North Syria peoples have become a good example of enhancing peace and creating the joint life of different peoples.
Russia continues to make the same mistakes. No project on the permanent solution of the crisis in Syria has been proposed during the meetings that were held so far. Democratic forces have been excluded from Geneva-1, Geneva-2 and Geneva-3 meetings in order to please the Turkish state, and emphasized that this mistake is being repeating in Astana talks.
It is unfair that as Kurdish, Arab, Assyrian, Turkmen, Armenian and other peoples of Syria, we are excluded from these talks because we have taken historic political, social and militaristic steps with our own resistance and power. We deserve to take part in these talks more than anyone else. Moreover, YPG, YPJ and SDF forces have a say over the political solution to the crisis in Syria because they have liberated a significant portion of the country from gang groups.
North Syria Democratic Federal System Execution Council, we say that Astana talks are bound to fail just like previous meetings, and we will not be bounded by the results of a meeting that excludes us. Our resistance against terror groups and construction of the Democratic Federal System will continue without a pause.”
