Artillery weapons stationed in Gümüştepe and Sîn û Ber region on Sêrt (Siirt) road continued bombing the neighborhoods of Bahçelievler, Cumhuriyet, Yeni and İsmetpaşa from last night till this morning. The bombardment left many houses on fire or demolished.
Simultaneously with the shelling, armored vehicles have also raked the neighborhoods amid heavy clashes between YPS/YPS-JIN and state forces trying to enter the three neighborhoods.
While neighborhoods remained under a heavy onslaught throughout the night, clashes got heavier as of early morning hours. A number of ambulances were dispatched to the area during the night and these were later seen heading towards 23rd Gendarmerie Border Division Command.
Activity of Turkish UAVs and helicopters has also intensified in and around the city since the night.
In the meantime, special operations officer Engin Şara from Maroon Berets who had wounded during clashes in Şırnak several days ago, has died while receiving treatment in military hospital GATA in Ankara.
