In the central Sur district of Amed where a curfew in 4 neighborhoods has left 22 days behind, youths protesting the onslaught blocked Melik Ehmed Street early Wednesday evening.

While clashes erupted as youths responded to the attack, a tear gas canister fired by police fell into a house on Otel Street, causing death of 70-year-old Salih Baygın with asthma due to intense tear gas.

People around rushed to the scene on seeing the incident and took Baygın's body outside the house in a blanket. Police are hindering the people from taking the man's body from the area, and not allowing access for an ambulance.
