Journalist Nûjiyan Erhan got severely wounded as result of a targeted attack by KDP-AKP gangs on 3 March and she lost her life on 22 March night at the Hesekê Hospital where she had been receiving treatment. On the other hand, YBŞ fighter Ferhat Çuva fell a martyr during the ISIS attack on Shengal villages on 23 March.
People from Rojava's Cizîr Canton and members of Free Press accompanied the funeral procession from Hesekê to Shengal in a convoy, waving YBŞ-YJŞ flags and carrying photographs of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Nujiyan Erhan, Ferhat Çuva and martyrs of the freedom struggle.
The funeral procession was welcomed by hundreds in Shengal with the slogan “Şehîd Namirin” [Martyrs are Immortal], and is heading to the Khanasor town.
Shengal Free Press workers, Shengal Constituent Assembly, TAJÊ, PADÊ, YBŞ-YJŞ fighters, Êzîdxan fighters, Êzidî people and people from Cizîr Canton will attend the funeral which will be held at Martyr Dilgeş and Berxwedan Cemetery.
