Bodies of Kurdish journalist Nûjiyan Erhan and YBŞ fighter Ferhad Mardînî are being taken from Hesekê to Shengal to be laid to rest.

Thousands of people from Rojava have taken the bodies of Kurdish journalist Nûjiyan Erhan (Tuba Akyilmaz) and YBŞ fighter Ferhad Mardînî, who had lost their lives as result of attacks by KDP forces in Shengal, from the Hesekê Institute of Martyrs' Families.

A convoy of cars covered with the photographs of martyrs and Kurdish symbols and flags have left Hesekê with the bodies of the two martyrs, and are heading to Shengal for funeral, chanting “Şehîd Namirin” [Martyrs are Immortal].

Journalist Nûjiyan Erhan was targeted by a deliberate shooting during the attacks of AKP-KDP gangs in Shengal's Khanasor town on 3 March, and she lost her life while in intensive care on 22 March.
