Three village guards were killed alongside many soldiers during the clashes between guerrillas and Turkish military units in the area of Mount Tendürek in Van's Çaldıran district at the weekend.

As the bodies of village guards remain in the clashes area, their relatives met with AKP Van MP Beşir Atalay, and reacted to the situation, saying; "Get the bodies of our relatives from the area. If you cannot do it, let us go to the operation area and retrieve them. The bodies will rot away under the sun."
