Body of a refugee found in Çaldıran

Body of a refugee has been found in the countryside of Van province.

The body, found in the neighborhood of Sarıçimen, is reported to be one of the 13 refugees who froze to death on February 8.

Van Governor’s Office had said in a statement on the refugees in question that the area couldn’t be reached because of adverse weather conditions, saying that the issue would be dealt with.

Body of a refugee has been found on Wednesday as result of rescue efforts launched in now favorable conditions. The body has been taken to the morgue of the Training and Research Hospital of Van and identification efforts are underway.

According to reports, efforts to find the other 12 refugees will continue.

According to Van branch of Human Rights Association (IHD), 10 of the refugees who froze to death in the mentioned region were from Afghanistan and the other three from Kobanê.
