Police have kidnapped the body of a youth killed by state forces in Şırnak province earlier this month.

Hakan Şengül and Selahattin Ege had been killed by Turkish forces in Şırnak's Dicle neighborhood on 4 January. Bodies of both youths remained on street under snow for one week due to continued aggression by military and police forces.

Bodies of the youths could be retrieved from where they were killed only owing to the efforts and persistent demand by the people. Both were later taken to Şırnak State Hospital's morgue.

Following a post-mortem examination, Hakan Şengül was laid to rest on 12 January alongside 11 other people killed by Turkish forces. Selahattin Ege, on the other hand, was still being held in the morgue until today because his family couldn't be reached.

Special operation police have today abducted Ege's body from Şırnak State Hospital's morgue. It is not known yet where the body of the slain youth was taken to.
