Body of United Freedom Forces (BÖG) fighter Eylem Ataş has been held on the border between Rojava (West) and Bakur (North) Kurdistan for 101 days since she lost her life fighting ISIS during the operation to liberate Manbij. Her family was denied permission to get her body despite all the efforts and applications they have made to Turkish authorities.
Ataş family was finally allowed to retrieve their daughter's body today. The family has taken Eylem's body to Mardin State Hospital where it is being held for a post-mortem examination which requires approval by the prosecutor's office.
