Bombardment of Sur continues

State forces continue their siege and shelling of neighborhoods in Sur.

State forces’ attacks on Amed’s central Sur district enter their 85th day. Attacks targeting the nearly 200 civilians including the 4 months old baby Elif Su have intensified this morning. Artillery shelling particularly targets the neighborhoods of Savaş and Cemal under curfew.

Sound of gunfights and black smokes rising up into the air continue in these neighborhoods.

The vigil in Dicle Fırat Culture Center demanding an end to the attacks and siege in Sur entered its 3rd day. The vigil had begun in order to prevent a second case of Cizre tragedy in Sur, and participants follow the developments in the district as well as discuss the concept of ‘self-administration’ during the vigil.
