The Northern Kurdistan province of Van was shaken by a huge blast tonight.

According to initial reports, 2 Nisan police station in the central İpekyolu district was targeted by bombing Wednesday night. The bombing was followed by several minutes of gunfire and intense ambulance activity. A number of armored vehicles have been dispatched to the scene.

The air was covered with a huge smoke over the scene. While no information was immediately available whether the bombing has caused casualties, the city is witnessing helicopter activity.
