Call for aid for the refugees at Ayn Îsa Camp in Girê Spî

Ayn Îsa Camp Migration Committee President Jalal al Ayaf called upon international humanitarian aid organisations to provide support for the refugees sheltered at the camp in Girê Spî.

Ayn Îsa Camp Migration Committee President Jalal al Ayaf stated that hundreds of refugees have been placed in the camp and the majority of these refugees came from Tabqa and Raqqa regions.

Jalal emphasized that they have limited resources and therefore experience problems in aiding all the refugees, and called upon international humanitarian organisations to provide aid for the refugees sheltered at the Ayn Îsa Camp in Girê Spî.

Refugee Mohammed al-Ahmad stated that he escaped from Raqqa at night, and said “We found a way to escape Raqqa and came to the Kebesh village 27 km away from Raqqa at midnight. We slept in the village where it was very cold. We managed to find shelter at a secure SDF zone as soon as the Sun came up.”

Another citizen named Halid Abu Ali said “We first migrated to Dara because of the cruelty of the Ba'ath regime. However, we ended up jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. We experienced the cruelty and oppression of ISIS gangs in Raqqa. Lastly, we managed to escape this cruelty and took refuge in this safe zone. We thank SDF forces for helping us settle in the Ayn Îsa Camp.”
