Attacks by Turkish military and police forces continue in the 33rd day of the onslaught in Amed's central Sur district.

A cannon ball fired by special operation police targeted a house on Küçük Aktar street of İskenderpaşa neighborhood Sunday afternoon. The cannon ball fell into the house on the second floor of a building and hit the household, which left 38-year-old Melek Alpaydın, mother of three, dead. The woman lost her head as a result of the attack, and died in front of her children.

The attack came as a group of Alevi women, who had come to Sur from various cities earlier today, wanted to offer a traditional dessert to the people in İskenderpaşa neighborhood. Tension remains high at the scene where residents react to the attack in anger and aren't allowing police forces to enter the neighborhood.
