People continue their march to Hakkari's Gever (Yüksekova) district where state forces continue to carry out genocidal attacks for 11 days. Citizens in Hakkari and Şemdinli joined the march in addition to those heading from Van despite the prevention attempts of soldiers.

After hundreds of citizens from the Old Airport and Doski regions of Gever’s Esendere (Bajirgeh) district gathered on the main intercity road, soldiers in armored vehicles prevented all access to Gever and attacked the people with teargas. Soldiers blocked the road near Yeniköprü Gendarme Base and dug a trench near Kalanis village in order to prevent the protestors’ passage. Hundreds of civilians continue to wait for the arrival of protestors marching from Van and its Başkale district.

SIT-IN PROTEST IN FRONT OF ARMORED VEHICLES

Soldiers from Şapatan military base blocked the passage of vehicles coming from Şemdinli, and civilians began a sit-in protest in front of armored vehicles as administrators from the HDP and DBP as well as Şemdinli Municipality Co-Mayors continue speak with military personnel in order for the passage of the people. State helicopters continue to carry out reconnaissance flights over Gever, and police officers tow vehicles trying to enter Gever with the excuse of ‘incomplete documentation.’
