Civilian shot in Nusaybin dies after 58 days in intensive care

61-year-old civilian Hasan Korkmaz who was shot and wounded by police in Mardin's Nusaybin district two months ago, has died.

61-year-old civilian Hasan Korkmaz who was shot and wounded by police in Mardin's Nusaybin district two months ago, has died.

Korkmaz had been shot by two bullets in the back after going up to the roof of his house in Fırat neighborhood during a curfew in the town two months ago. The man was since held in intensive care unit of Dicle University Medical Faculty Hospital where he lost his life last night.

The man has been laid to rest in Mohriz Cemetery today.

With Korkmaz's death, the number of civilians killed by state forces in Nusaybin rose to 24.
