A large number of civilians from Rojava and Shengal's villages marched to the positions of KDP-affiliated gangs in Khanasor town of Shengal today. The civilians made a statement to the press in the wake of the attack which left one dead and at least 10 injured.
Speaking here, Şex Xelef said: "We do not want a war, we marched here for peace. Yet, they attacked and injured us. We should not fight each other. We should unite and fight against the enemy. During the genocide perpetrated against the Êzidîs in 2014, PKK fighters made themselves a shield for us, they paid a price for the Êzidîs. Everyone who calls themselves Êzidîs should stand against these attacks."
"THE GANGS OF ERDOĞAN AND BARZANİ ATTACKED US"
Speaking after, a mother by the name of Kinê said the followings; "Our people in Rojava came here to support the Êzidîs, and we marched to the positions to stop this fighting. However, the gangs of Erdoğan and Barzani that invaded our land have attacked us although we are civilians and unarmed. There have been casualties among us. We will avenge those who fell a martyr. PKK has always stood with us and we will stand with the PKK to the end."
"WE WILL FIGHT FOR SHENGAL"
Hesekê People's Assembly Executive Eziz Eli on behalf of the Rojava people in solidarity with the Êzidîs told the followings; "We came from Rojava to express our support with the people of Shengal with whom we will stand with to the very end. We will also come here to defend this land if need be. Shengal is the honour of the history of Kurdistan and humanity. Those who sold Shengal out will now sell Kurdistan out. While Kurds are discussing the National Congress, these attacks are deliberately carried out by Erdoğan."
