The clashes in Hesekê that began after the regime forces’ attack on Asayish headquarters entered their 8th day.
Last night’s clashes in Lêliyê and Xwêran neighborhoods, around the post office in Mesakin neighborhood, and near Kewbeb mountain have continued until this morning. Clashes also continue in many other parts of the city.
The Stadium, the Cultural and Artistic Center and Passport Directorate where intense clashes took place yesterday evening between Baath regime forces and YPG/YPJ and Asayish forces have been liberated.
In the meantime, 283 regime soldiers and their allied gang members stationed around Kewkeb village were taken prisoner along with their arms by YPG/YPJ, Asayish and Popular Defense Forces (HPC).
In the Hesekê clash that started with the regime’s attack, the regime continually suffers blow after blow. Following the 53 soldiers taken prisoner before, 283 more soldiers and their allied gangs stationed around Kevke mountain were surrounded and taken prisoner by the YPG/YPJ, Asayish and People’s Defense Forces.
The regime soldiers and allied gang members surrendered after a week under siege when they reportedly received no aid.
