Sabite Ekinci and Hüseyin Güneş, the Co-mayors of Muş’s Varto district, had been detained as part of the investigation carried out by Varto Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

After being processed at the district police headquarters, Güneş was released and Ekinci was taken to Muş Courthouse today.

Ekinci gave her statement at the courthouse, after which she was arrested and sent to Muş E-Type Prison after being charged with “membership to a terrorist organization.”
