Co-mayors of Ağrı's Doğubayazıt district jailed
Seven people including Co-mayors of Ağrı's Doğubayazıt district have been formally arrested in the scope of ongoing political genocide operations.
Seven people who had been detained in an Doğubayazıt-centered operation in Istanbul and Urfa on January 23, who included Doğubayazıt Co-mayors Murat Rohat Özbay and Delal Tekdemir, have been referred to court.
Following the testimonies, the prosecutor demanded that the detainees be arrested on charges of "aiding and abetting and spreading propaganda for a terrorist organisation".
Co-mayors Murat Rohat Özbay and Delal Tekdemir,deputy co-mayor Bülent Erişik and municipal council members Mustafa Ergül, Z. Abidin Kızılay, Halime Keskin and Bora Çoktin were all formally arrested for the mentioend charges.
