A total of 12 Kurdish politicians have been arrested in Dersim province last night after their detention as a result of house raids yesterday morning.

The arrested politicians include: Dersim Municipality co-mayors Mehmet Ali Bul and Nurhayat Altun, City Council Member Cemile Ataş, DİSK Dersim Branch Co-chair Şükran Yılmaz, DBP Provincial Branch Co-chair Murat Polat, HDP Provincial Branch Co-chair Aslan Çağ, HDP PM Member Ekber Kaya, HDP administrators Hüseyin Dağdeviren and Yaşar Ağın, EMEP Provincial Branch Co-chair Mustafa Taşkale, BES Dersim representative Musa Kılıç and ESP member Hakan Kavut.

On the other hand, Siirt Municipality Co-mayor Tuncer Bakırhan was also remanded in custody after his detention during a house raid yesterday morning.

Bakırhan was arrested late Wednesday evening on alleged charges of “spreading terror propaganda” and “aiding a terrorist organization”.
