Co-mayors of Mardin's Nusaybin district, Cengiz Kök and Sara Kaya, who were recently dismissed and replaced by a trustee, were referred to court today after their detention in house raids alongside 12 other people on January 13.
The Co-mayors were formally arrested by Nusaybin Penal Court of First Instance for allegedly “disrupting the unity and integrity of the state”.
The arrested Co-mayors have been sent to Mardin E Type Closed Prison.
