Police forces carried out raids on numerous houses in Mardin's Nusaybin district and its villages early Friday morning.

Nusaybin Co-mayors Cengiz Kök and Sara Kaya, who were recently dismissed and replaced by a trustee, are among those detained in the operation.

Closed association Seyit- der chairperson Abdullah Öngün, DBP Nusaybin district co-chair Siraç Dinç, DBP administrator Abdullah Yılmaz and three other people were also detained.

The 8 detainees were taken to Nusaybin district police station as raids in the district and its villages continue.
