Co-mayors of Şırnak's Uludere district, Zeynep Üren and Yunus Ürek have been taken into custody in the scope of the increasingly ongoing political genocide operations of the Turkish government.

Üren and Ürek were detained during raids on their houses where police also conducted a detailed search.

While the Co-mayors were taken to Uludere police directorate, a large number of police forces have laid a siege around the municipal building.
