Siirt Governor's Office has declared a curfew on the residential area between Aydınlar, Cumhuriyet, Şeyh Zeynep, Şeyh Süleyman, Ahmet Kiğan avenues and the streets of 427, 429 and 652.

The curfew will begin at 18:00 this evening and remain in force until a further notice.

The city has been witnessing a heavy presence and mobilization of Turkish military and police forces that laid a siege on Yeni, Ulus and Conkbayır neighborhoods and blocked all entry and exit points in these areas earlier today. The military activity increased after HPG and YJA Star guerrillas hit the military barracks located on Şeyh Turki Hill in Sakarya neighborhood, and the Cumhuriyet police outpost in İnönü neighborhood at around 03:00 last night.
