During the 37 days of curfew and onslaught in Şırnak's Silopi district, which was partially lifted as of yesterday, Turkish forces deployed in the town turned government offices, places of worship and party offices into military headquarters.

The buildings used by Turkish military and police forces were greatly damaged and became centers of heavy attacks against the people. While even mosques became unusable, Turkish forces also formed emplacements in some buildings overlooking the town from which they evacuated locals by use of force. Sandbags were placed on windows of these buildings which were remarkably devastated.
