The DBP celebrated 1 November World Kobanê Day and called on the Kurdish people, their friends, and everyone who promotes democracy and freedom to unite for a common struggle.”
The Democratic Regions Party (DBP) issued a written statement marking the 1st of November World Kobanê Day.
The statement said that all peoples, especially the Kurdish people, put up great resistance against ISIS which is the archenemy of nature, humanity and history; “They protected Kobanê at the cost of their lives. While Arîn Mirkan, one of the symbols of the Kobanê resistance, led the liberation of Kobanê, thousands brought the Rojava Revolution together with the peoples of the world. Revolutionaries from all over the world fought ISIS in Kobanê and turned it into the centre of the Rojava Revolution.
'AN EPIC RESISTANCE'
The statement emphasized that an epic resistance was displayed for 133 days to protect human dignity in Kobanê.
“Just as fascism received a huge defeat in Stalingrad during the Second World War, the resistance in Kobanê defeated fascism and the darkness of ISIS. ISIS was not only defeated by the faith, determination and struggle of the people of Kurdistan. Those who were expecting the fall of Kobanê were also defeated.”
As the DBP, we stand by all the peoples who are expanding the struggle for freedom against the darkness of ISIS. On this occasion, we once again celebrate the 1st of November World Solidarity Day with Kobanê. We call on the Kurdish people, their friends, and everyone who promotes democracy and freedom to unite for a common struggle.”
