DBP Co-chair Tuncel placed in Diyarbakır Type E Prison

Arrested yesterday, DBP Co-chair Sebahat Tuncel has been placed in Diyarbakır Type E Prison.

Democratic Regions' Party (DBP) Co-chair Sebahat Tuncel was arrested after being battered and detained in front of the Diyarbakır Courthouse on November 4 during a protest against the arrests of HDP Co-chairs Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ and 10 HDP MPs, and is now placed in Diyarbakır Type E Prison. Tuncel’s family and lawyers weren’t informed of where she was taken after the arrest verdict.

Tuncel was arrested on allegations of “membership to a terrorist organization” when 7 seperate inquiries were combined into one last week with the excuse of an inquiry case file against the DTK that some policemen, judges and prosecutors who are “FETÖ/PDY” members had prepared.

Meanwhile, HDP MPs Nursel Aydoğan, Leyla Birlik and Selma Irmak who were arrested in Hakkari and Şırnak were placed in Silivri Prison.
