DBP organises rallies across North Kurdistan against Öcalan's isolation

A series of rallies will be held in North Kurdistan cities demanding an immediate end to the isolation of Kurdish Leader Abdullah Öcalan with the motto “We are in the streets to end the isolation and give voice to peace”.

A series of rallies will be held in North Kurdistan cities demanding an immediate end to the isolation of Kurdish Leader Abdullah Öcalan with the motto “We are in the streets to end the isolation and give voice to peace”. The rallies will kick off on September 1st.

DBP (Party of Democratic Regions) Headquarters said in a written statement that the isolation of Öcalan has been aggravated since the AKP government and Erdoğan ended the peace and negotiation process by re-starting and deepening conflict, and driving the country into a chaos, through the policies they pursued in the wake of June 7 election.

DBP said Öcalan had warned numerous times during the past years that the war could claim the lives of up to ten thousand people and a coup mechanism could come into play in the event that a democratic resolution and consensus is not reached.

DBP stressed that they will continue highlighting their demand for the ending of Öcalan's isolation and re-initiation of negotiations in order for the achievement of peace in Turkey.

DBP added that they are organising rallies, public meetings, peace chain demonstrations and marches with the motto “We are in the streets to end the isolation and give voice to peace”.

The list of the demos organised by DBP is as follows;

1- Batman Women's Rally (September 1)

2- Urfa Rally (September 3)

3- Muş Public Meeting (September 5)

4- Bingöl Public Meeting (September 6)

5 -Hakkari Rally (September 7)
