Demirtaş: Kurds should act together in this period

HDP Co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş spoke in Hewler and said that the Kurdish political powers should commonize their approaches.

HDP Co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş and the accompanying committee conducted a series of meetings in Hewler and held a press conference in Çarçıra Hotel yesterday evening.

HDP deputy co-chairs Fatma Kurtalan and Nadir Yıldırım, MPs Osman Baydemir, Besime Konca, İmam Taşçıer and Celal Doğan attended the press conference from the HDP committee.

Selahattin Demirtaş spoke in the press conference and said: “It’s imperative for Kurds to act together in this period. All political parties should have a common approach.”

Demirtaş stated that today the Kurds have more opportunities and possibilities in their hand than any period in history and said: “In history, Kurds not acting together always resulted in them losing their rights and freedoms. The Kurdish people are not a threat to any group. Whoever works together with Kurds, will win. The Kurds’ approach in four parts of Kurdistan is critical. It gives us grief that resistances and sacrifices in Kurdish history ends like this.”

“Our visit to Southern Kurdistan won’t solve all problems,” said Demirtaş and continued: “We as the HDP don’t think of any party or organisation as different. We want all parties to cooperate in order to get past these problems. We hope our visit will be an opportunity for Kurds to cooperate.”
