Demirtaş to meet Council of Europe officials

Demirtaş will today come together with officials from Council of Europe, including the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Jeppe Tranholm-Mikkelsen, Turkey’s Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe, Erdoğan Şerif İşcan, Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Nils Muižnieks, and President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Anne Brasseur.
AKP'S WAR POLICY TO BE BROUGHT TO AGENDA
Demirtaş will make a speech at the meeting of the Liberal Group in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe as well as joining the open meeting hosted by the Left Group. HDP co-chair is expected to talk in the meetings about the war concept of the AKP government and discuss with the group members what could be done for the ending of the war. Attacks on the HDP and holding of the elections in the current war atmosphere are also expected to be brought to the agenda during the talks.
In the meantime, the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe is expected to take decisions regarding primarily the war in the Middle East and the migration problem as well as the other problems faced in the world during its 5-day sessions.
Meanwhile, the PACE is waiting a reply from Ankara to its application for observing the elections of November 1.
